The City of Greenville is honored to have provided grant assistance, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, to enable an Air Force veteran and his family to have a home to grow in.

The recent dedication of the Rush family's home marked the third completed Habitat for Humanity house on Mulberry Street, on land the City of Greenville sold at a reduced price for the use of affordable housing.

Greenville Housing Fund Accepting Letters of Intent

The Greenville Housing Fund seeks to enable thriving diverse neighborhoods in all of Greenville to be successful by furthering the production and preservation of quality housing that is affordable, attainable and accessible to all residents.

Jerry Blassingame Receives Buck Mickel Leadership Award

Jerry Blassingame was recently awarded the Buck Mickel Leadership Award at the Greenville Chamber's annual meeting for his passionate leadership in empowering previously incarcerated individuals. The award is given to individuals who have had a dramatic impact on the community by playing a leadership role in solving critical community issues, strengthening the community or providing visionary leadership to a major community development project.

This free workshop will explore legal issues related to heirs, wills and property, including the importance of a will and what happens if you don't have one. Discussions will also include what happens to your property and mortgage after you are deceased.

Rebuild Upstate Receives Max Heller Neighborhood Improvement Award

Rebuild Upstate was recently awarded the Max Heller Neighborhood Improvement Award at the Greenville Chamber's annual meeting for their dedication to eliminating substandard housing across the Upstate. The award is given to organizations that have demonstrated exemplary efforts toward neighborhood improvement and empowerment.

Southernside Neighborhoods In Action Annual Dinner

Residents of the Southernside neighborhood and champions for the community gathered February 14 for fellowship and information-sharing at the Southernside Neighborhoods In Action Annual Dinner.

Over 100 people attended the event, which included an update on Unity Park from Mayor Knox White and an awards ceremony honoring those who have worked to improve the quality of life in the Southernside neighborhood and in the Greenville community. The Greenville Housing Fund also announced its receipt of a $50,000 planning grant from TD Bank for the development of affordable housing in Southernside.
