Community Meeting on Homelessness

The City of Greenville and United Housing Connections, a local community organization that connects people at-risk for or currently experiencing homelessness with safe, sustainable and affordable homes, hosted two community meetings on Tuesday, May 18 at the Kroc Center. These important, interactive meetings focused on understanding and identifying solutions for homelessness, specifically in the downtown area. Recap Video

Also, the City, along with United Housing Connections has developed a Homeless Services Resource Sheet to assist businesses.

Update on City Mask Ordinance

The City of Greenville’s emergency mask ordinance is no longer in effect after Governor Henry McMaster's most recent Executive Order concerning the COVID-19 pandemic in South Carolina. If you would like a "Masks Encouraged" sign for your business, please let me know. More Info

West End Small Area Plan Meeting - Tuesday, May 25

The City will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, May 25 at 6:00 p.m., to present the draft West End Small Area Plan. The project includes a study area near the west end of downtown, bordered roughly by Academy Street to the north and Pendleton Street to the south. Working with Urban Design Associates and community representatives, city staff identified supportive architecture and site design elements, and then developed a vision for future development and growth. The draft plan will be discussed in a special-called workshop with the Design Review Board on June 1, anticipating to deliver the plan to the Planning Commission in July. Meeting Agenda

New Addition to Downtown: West End Parking Lot

The City opened a new parking lot in the West End last week. The lot is located at 911 South Main Street and adds 49 spaces to the West End. Parking in the lot is FREE, with a two-hour limit.
