Penalties Waived for Late Payment of Local Accommodation Fees/Hospitality Taxes
What does that mean for taxpayers?
1. The taxpayer is still required to file the monthly tax reports with the City by March 20, 2020 (if filed by March 24, the report will be considered timely) and April 20, 2020. Failure to file a timely tax report form, with or without payment, shall be deemed non-payment of the fee or tax and shall accrue a late penalty.
2. The taxpayer may remit payment for the March 20 and April 20 due dates as late as May 20 without any late payment penalties, so long as the taxpayer submits the required monthly reports on time.
