Follow the green ‘P’ to over 8,000 parking spaces, including more than 700 free on-street spaces. You can also park at one of the City’s 14 parking facilities, located just steps away from all the popular entertainment, shopping and dining destinations. The City also offers free parking on weekends in select locations, and many downtown merchants provide free or discounted garage parking for their customers.
The Parking Division, organizationally located in the Public Works Department, oversees the operation of all City garages. Each parking garage is equipped with an automated Pay-in-Lane station, which accepts cash, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express) and parking vouchers.
New Rates: First Hour Free in City Garages
Those who come downtown to shop, dine, do business and enjoy the cultural and entertainment options can now park for free at any of the City’s parking garages. The first hour of parking in all City parking garages is free, no matter the day or time. After the first free hour, customers will pay $1.50 to park for a second hour, and then $1 per hour thereafter, with a daily maximum of $7.50.
The cost to park at the Washington Street parking deck and the West End park and ride lot is $1 per hour up to a maximum of $7.

Temporary On-Street Parking Application
Obtain a no fee permit for over-sized vehicles
The temporary on-street parking permit application is available for over sized, commercial vehicles. The permit is valid during regular business hours, which are 7 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday - Friday. Complete the application (PDF) and return it to parking services via email to obtain your permit.
